The body of a 69-year-old man was found in Lake Wassookeag by workers doing construction in his camp.

Maine Warden Corporal John McDonald says Gerry Marshall of Corinna was wearing his life vest when his body was found Thursday afternoon. It's believed that he was trying to retrieve his pontoon boat with his jet-ski after the boat had drifted away from his property.

After a short time, construction workers noticed Marshall floating in the water. McDonald says they tried life saving measures as they waited for rescue workers to respond. Despite all efforts, Marshall was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office. At this point, it's unclear what led to Marshall's death.

Wardens were assisted by Dexter Ambulance, Fire, and Police.
