Community Forum on School Safety and Security May 10 [VIDEO]

WDEA's Chris Popper sat down with Dr. Marc Gousse, the Superintendent of MDI Schools to talk about the upcoming 2nd Community Forum on School Safety and Security which will be held in the Band Room at MDI High School on Thursday, May 10th from 6-7:30PM

Dr. Gousse spoke about the concerns students had about the music room and additional training that staff and students will undergo in the future. There have been 3 incidents that the MDI Community has dealt with, and the need for improved communication. The school system doesn't act in a vacuum in the event of a threat. They work with public safety officials, the district attorney. If there's any hint of real danger, they will err on the side of caution and not have school. Dr. Gousse emphasized the need for students and community that if they see or hear something, they need to say something and do something!
