It's a big day for Collin, my 23 year old son, who started the 2100 mile trek back to Maine from Georgia today, March 13, 2015! For someone who hasn't really been out of Maine for the majority of his life, it's going to be an adventure for sure!

His adventure began on Tuesday, with a bus trip from Bangor to North Carolina, that took the better part of 2 days, and included him sleeping on the floor in New York City at the bus station. His pack is almost 50 pounds, and it's rainy and 42 degrees in Gainesville Georgia as he begins. He has met up with some people, and will be hiking with them.

Will he make it? I don't know, but I know he's grown and achieved a lot since he left on Tuesday! Whether he makes it a mile, or 2100, I'm proud of him and will be saying lots of prayers as he hikes!

His Facebook friend Tom Ingram wrote this quote from Dr. Seuss on his wall today, and it's perfect

"You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!”
― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!
