Child Dead and Couple is Charged with Making Meth

A child is dead and a couple is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine in a bizarre case out of Washington County.

Maine Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says 39-year-old Alan Richardson and 30-year-old Tabitha Osnoe of Danforth were arrested Saturday after fire investigators found evidence of a "one-pot" methamphetamine lab in their home.

The couple's 5-month-old baby died Friday of unknown causes, and after they brought him to the hospital, their mobile home burned.

The Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire and an autopsy is being conducted to determine the child's cause of death.
