If you are traveling through Somesville for the next 5 weeks beginning Tuesday, November 14th, you should be expecting delays, as Versant Power is upgrading electrical equipment.

The 20th Annual MDI Marathon will take place Sunday, October 15th and begins in downtown Bar Harbor and will end in Southwest Harbor. Drivers in the area should exercise caution and be prepared for delays as runners and spectators will be on the course. Early runners will be on the course at 8 AM!

First National Bank is conducting a "Sugar and Spice" drive at all of their branches now through November 10th.

Thursday, August 31st was a beautiful day for a field trip and over 100 students from MDI's schools went to the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor . Check out the photos and see why they went!

Chief Jim Willis has submitted his letter of resignation to Durlin Lunt the Town Manager for Mount Desert and to Sarah Gilbert the Acting Town Manager in Bar Harbor. The letter was dated July 17th.
