Ellsworth High School Athletic Director Josh Frost announced this morning, July 12th, that Jamie Calandro has been chosen as the new Volleyball Coach, having been approved by the Ellsworth School Committee on Tuesday, July 11th. Calandro replaces Whtney Ranger who resigned after coaching for two season

Calandro is entering his second year as the music teacher at Ellsworth High School.  He previously coached at Mercy High School in Riverhead, New York for 13 seasons, where he not only founded the program in 2004 but was named Suffolk Class C Coach of the Year in 2005.  He coached the team to 8 playoff appearances in the Suffolk League on Long Island, New York.  Jamie also played volleyball at Marist College where he was a captain his senior year.

Coach Calandro is holding open gym sessions for all Ellsworth High School girls that are interested in playing volleyball during the fall sports season.  The open gym sessions will be held on July 13, 18, 20, 25, 27 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  For more information you can email Mr. Calandro at jcalandro@ellsworthschools.org
