Bucksport Shuts Out MA 5-0

The Bucksport Golden Bucks Girl's Soccer Team played host to Mattanawcook Academy on Monday afternoon, September 26th and proved to be ungracious hosts, shutting out the Lynx 5-0.  Senior, Tine Hjelle ended with 4 goals for Bucksport

Hjelle started the scoring with 37:06 remaining in the 1st Half with an assist coming from Hannah Ashmore. Hjelle scored again, making it 2-0, just 1 minute and 10 seconds later.

Junior Cassy Coombs scored in the 1st Half, finishing a loose ball within the 18 yard box, to make it 3-0 Golden Bucks.

Hjelle scored her 3rd goal for the hat trick in the 1st Half with 9:37 remaining and Bucksport led 4-0 at the end of the 1st Half.

Tine Hjelle scored her final goal, her 4th, and the team's 5th with an assist from Cassy Coombs, with 32:55 remaining in the game.

In goal, Bucksport’s Bree Coombs had 5 saves on 6 shots while Mattanawcook Academy’s Kiana Hafford had 12 saves on 20 shots.

Bucksport is now 4-3-1 and plays host to Central on Wednesday, September 28th at 4 PM.

Mattanawcook Academy is 1-6 and plays host to Schenck on Friday, September 30th at 4 PM.
