Bucksport High School Class of 2015
The Bucksport High School Class of 2015 will be celebrating their graduation this Friday, June 12th at 6 PM. Congratulations to the Class of 2015, their parents and families! RSU 25 announced the Honor's Parts.
Sarra Bridges - Valedictorian
Sarra Bridges is the daughter of Linwood and Kathryn Bridges, and is graduating with a 101.0 GPA. Miss Bridges will be attending Colby College this fall to major in Biology. Her extracurricular activities and awards include: Football Cheerleading 9, 10, 11, 12 (Captain 12); Basketball Cheerleading 9, 10, 11, 12 (Captain 12); National Honors Society 11, 12 (President 12); Jazz Band 10, 11, 12; Jazz Choir 10, 11, 12 , Drama 9, 10, 11, 12; Prom Committee 1; Class Treasurer 10, 11, 12; National Anthem Singer 12; Math Team 11, 12; Yearbook 9, 10; Dirigo Girls State 2014 – House of Representatives; School Board Student Representative – 11, 12; Valedictorian.
Tyler Young - Salutatorian
Tyler Young is the son of Dawn Curtain and Joe Young, and is graduating with a 96.7 GPA. Mr. Young will be attending the University of Maine, Orono in the fall in the Engineering program. His extracurricular activities and awards include: Cross Country 9; Cross Country Team Manager 10; Cross Country Team Volunteer 11,12; the College of the Atlantic Book Award, the highest GPA for Computer Animation, and Honors all four years of high school; Salutatorian.
Sarah Doucette - 1st Essayist
Sarah Doucette, is the daughter of Christopher and Michelle Doucette and is graduating with a 96.4 GPA. Miss Doucette will be attending Husson University to study Nursing. Her academic accomplishments and awards include being Vice President of the National Honor Society, winning the Phi Beta Kappa Award, participating in Dirigo Girls' State, earning High/Highest Honors all four years of high school, and winning the Coach's Award on the Math Team. Sarah participated in Volleyball and Cheering.
Matthew Stewart - 2nd Essayist
Matthew Stewart is the son of Andrea and Peter Stewart, and is graduating with a 95.8 GPA. He is attending Maine Maritime Academy to study Marine Engineering Technology. His academic accomplishments and awards include being a member of the National Honor Society, earning Honor Roll all four years of high school, receiving the highest average in German award, receiving the highest average in World Studies award, and being a member of Student Council. Matt participated in football, wrestling, baseball, the Reading Buddy program, Mr. Bucksport Committee, and is the 2015 winner of the Mr. Bucksport competition.
