Bucksport Girls Soccer Wins in OT 3-2

The Bucksport Girl's Soccer Team defeated Searsport 3-2 in overtime on Friday, September 2nd to start the season 1-0.

Searsport led 1-0, scoring at 33:41 in the first half, with a shot from Karigan Coffin. Bucksport tied it at 1-1 with 15:30 remaining in the first half, when freshman Zoe Hosford took a cross from junior Cassy Coombs and found the back of the net.

Bucksport took a 2-1 lead late in the first half, with 1:21 remaining when senior Emily Hunt converted a penalty kick.

Late in the 2nd Half, Coffin scored her 2nd goal of the game, with 2:03 remaining, sending the game into overtime.

In overtime, with 3:20 left, junior Maggie Bires scored off a loose ball in the 18, sending the Golden Bucks home victorious!

Bucksport is now 1-0 in the young season, and plays at Orono on Wednesday, September 7th at 4 PM.

Searsport is 0-1 and plays at Bangor Christian on Saturday, September 10th at 11 AM.
