Bucksport Baseball Edges Ellsworth 2-0

The Bucksport Golden Bucks defeated Ellsworth 2-0 Tuesday afternoon in Bucksport as Ellsworth  began their 2015 season and Bucksport played their 2nd game.

It was a pitcher's duel, as Ellsworth sent their ace Conor Maguire to the mound and Bucksport countered with Carter DeRedin. DeRedin struck out 15 batters, walking only 1 and gave up 3 hits in picking up the win for Bucksport. Maguire struck out 3, gave up 5 hits and walked 1. Bucksport's two runs were unearned, and they scored them in the bottom of the 5th inning. Ellsworth committed 2 errors

Conor Maguire and Mitchell Domagala doubled for Ellsworth and Avery Anderson singled for Ellsworth's lone hits. For Bucksport, Craig, Soper, Carmichael, Allan and Stewart each had singles.

Bucksport, now 2-0 plays at Dexter on Saturday, April 25th at 12:noon. Ellsworth 0-1 plays at Hermon on Tuesday, April 28th at 4:30 PM..
