Clay Buchholz has been awful this year. He's 2-4 with a 7.02 ERA and after his horrible start in Atlanta, you knew there was no way the Red Sox were going to send him out for his next start. It remained to be seen whether he was was going to have a case of "Fenway Flu" to go on the disabled list, or if the Sox would option him to the minors.

Well it turns out Buchholz has a hyperextended left knee, and was placed on the 15 day disabled list, retroactive till Tuesday, May 26th. In his place, the Sox have called up Alex Wilson. At Pawtucket,  Wilson is 1-0 with five saves, and a 1.42 ERA in 18 appearances, all in relief. He has held opponents to a .182 batting average and is averaging 9.9 strikeouts per nine innings with the Red Sox Triple A team.
