If baseball games were won purely on pitching and defense the Red Sox would have beat the Twins Tuesday. However you need to score runs, the Sox didn't and lost to the Twins 2-1.Clay Buchholz allowed two runs on 3 hits in the first inning before settling in for a solid start. Over the next 6.1 innings of work Buchholz only gave up 4 more hits and no walks but took the loss after not receiving any run support.

The Red Sox offense has once again disappeared as they managed just 7 hits and only one for extra bases when David Ortiz doubled in the second inning and scored the lone run of the game on a Mike Napoli single. Boston is now 25th out of 30 teams in batting average and do not have a single player batting .300 on the roster.

Rick Porcello takes the mound this afternoon as the Sox look to avoid the sweep. Porcello will try to rebound from his last start in which the LA Angels scored 7 runs before he pulled in the 5th inning. The pregame starts at 12:25 and first pitch at 1:10 on AM 1370 WDEA
