Have you driven around the Schoodic Peninsula lately?  You can't miss the new construction and activity when you enter the area!

The new Schoodic Woods Campground at the head of the peninsula is set to open on September 1st, and will remain open until Columbus Day on October 12th.

The impressive campground, owned by Lyme Timber Company of Hanover, New Hampshire, and operated by Acadia National Park will feature 50 camping sites for tents and small campers, 33 sites for RVs, 9 sites that one would have to hike-in to, and a couple of larger camp sites for groups.

The new signage and features of the 1500 acre campground blend right in with the beauty of Acadia National Park. There's eight and a half miles of eleven foot wide walking and biking trails that connect both sides of the peninsula! Beautiful new restrooms are at the head of each hiking loop, and there's also a new Welcome center and amphitheater for  events!
