Halloween is approaching so it’s fitting that the SPCA of Hancock County’s Pet of the Week is a beautiful long-haired black cat with bright yellow eyes named Boo.

Boo is about 1 and ½-years-old and is a little shy. She would do best in a calm home with people who understand that it may take her a little while to warm up to you. Boo gets along well with other cats but may not do well around dogs and young children. Although a bit reserved, Boo is really a sweetheart and could be the Halloween treat to make your family complete.

Boo is up to date on her shots, spayed, micro-chipped and ready for her forever home. All adoption fees are half priced through the end of the month.

To meet Boo or any of the other wonderful dogs and cats at the SPCA of Hancock County, please visit the shelter at 141 Bar Harbor Road. They're are open Tuesdays through Sundays. You can also visit them online at www.spcahancockcounty.org or give them a call at (207) 667-8088.

Even if you are not ready for a new pet, they're are always looking for volunteers!
