Xander Bogaerts went 3-4 on Thursday, April 9th including a triple and single, as the Red Sox batted around in the 3rd inning and the Red Sox defeated Philadelphia 6-2, to take the series and improved to 2-1 on the season.

Justin Masterson pitched well, picking up his first win for the Red Sox, going 6 innings, striking out 7, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs and walked 2. Masterson helped his own cause, going 2-3 at the plate, and drove in a run. Masterson became the first Red Sox pitcher to get 2 hits in a game since Josh Beckett.

The Red Sox now travel to New York to play the Yankees in a 3 game series. Tonight's game starts at 7:05 PM with the pregame starting at 6:20 on AM 1370 WDEA.  The Red Sox will send lefty Wade Miley to the mound, while the Yankees counter with right hander Nathan Eovaldi. Both pitchers are making their debuts for their new teams.

The bases were full of #RedSox in the 3rd inning. Xander Bogaerts changed that with one swing.
