Blue Hill Fair September 1-5 [SCHEDULE]

It's hard to believe that summer is unofficially over in Downeast Maine.

Schools in Bar Harbor and AOS 91 welcome everyone back on September 1st, with Freshmen having a half day on August 31st.

The first student day in Ellsworth is Thursday, September 1st and in Bucksport children go back to school beginning September 1st for grades K-9 and then on September 2nd for all High School students. What truly puts the exclamation mark on the fact that summer is unofficially over is that the Blue Hill Fair is this upcoming weekend, running September 1st through the 5th.

The Blue Hill Fair, located at the Fairgrounds at 233 Ellsworth Road in Blue Hill has been in existence since 1891! The Fair opens Thursday the 1st, at 4 PM and runs until 10 PM. September 1st is Dollar Day, with admission just a dollar and all mechancial rides just a dollar as well!

Friday, September 2nd through Sunday September 4th the Fair is open daily from 8 AM - 10 PM with the midway open at 10 AM daily. On Monday September 5th the Fair runs from 8AM - 9 PM with the midway opening at 10 AM. On Monday the 5th, you can ride all the mechanical rides you want from 2 PM to 9 PM for just $20.00.

Admission is $8.00 on Friday September 2nd, but just $3.00 that day for Seniors 62 and over. On Saturday,Sunday and Monday, September 3rd, 4th and 5th adult admissions are $10.00 per person. There is no admission fee for children 12 and under. There is no fee for parking and all stage shows are free with the general admission.
