Many Dairy Queens are opening on March 17, but Mother Nature was serving up a helping of a Blizzard to Down East Maine Tuesday into Wednesday, as the Winter Storm Warning has been upgraded to a Blizzard Warning until 2 AM Wednesday for Coastal Hancock and Washington Counties as well as the Greater Bangor area.

Here's the video of the snow going sideways at 4:55 on Tuesday afternoon on the Acme Road in Brewer

I tried to get to Sand Beach and Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park this afternoon, but the National Park Service had blocked off the road. Above are pictures as the snow started to pick up in intensity this afternoon.

The forecast is calling for blowing snow Down East, mixing with snow and sleet then rain after midnight. Visibility will be one quarter or less at times. Total snow accumulation will be 8 to 12 inches with a trace of ice.
