Black Bears Sighted in Acadia National Park

When I heard reports that Black Bears were sighted in Acadia National Park I thought it was a team building exercise for the UMaine Women's Basketball Team and former MDI Trojan Sierra Tapley was taking her teammates into the Park! However that's not the case, and the rangers at Acadia National Park are warning visitors that black bears have been sighted in the Park!

With the National Park Service offering free admission this Thursday through Sunday, it's expected that Acadia National Park will be very busy. Acadia National Park is offering these suggestions to avoid running into a black bear

It's not the first time a black bear has been in Bar Harbor. Approximately 10 years while doing a food drive with our sister station WWMJ at the Bar Harbor Hannaford in October, we saw a baby black bear in the trees next to the Bar Harbor Municipal Building!
