The Boston Red Sox slugged 6 home runs on Tuesday night against the Angels, with Mookie Betts blasting 3 by himself, and by the time the game ended early Wednesday morning (East Coast time), the Red Sox improved their record to a league best 14-2, winning 10-1

Betts was 3-3 with 3 home runs, and 2 walks and would have had a chance for a 4th in the top of the 9th, but Brock Holt grounded into a double play. Betts started the scoring in the 1st inning, leading off, hitting a homer off Shohei Otani.

Brock Holt ended up with 3 RBIs, going 3-5 with a home run. Rafael Devers  and Jackie Bradley Jr.  each hit a home run.

Luke Bard who came in to relieve Otani after he left after 2 innings with a blister, gave up 4 homers in the top of the 3rd, to Betts, Holt, Devers and Bradley Jr. The Red Sox scored 5 runs in the 3rd.

Meanwhile David Price picked up his 2nd win of the season to improve to 2-1. He threw 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits, walking 4 and striking out 6.Brian Johnson threw 3 innings of 1 hit relief and Michael Walden pitched the 9th.

The Red Sox, lead the AL East by 3 games over the 2nd place Toronto Blue Jays, who have a 11-5

The Red Sox and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will play the 2nd game of the 3 game series Wednesday night with the pregame starting at 9:20 and 1st pitch at 10:07 on AM 1370. Rick Porcello, 3-0 will go to the mound for the Red Sox
