Catherine Morse has earned the distinction of class Valedictorian.  Katie has been an active and vital part of her class for the last four years with her quiet leadership.  She has consistently been on the honor roll, received class room awards for her academic excellence as well as being selected for Student of the Quarter, and she was named an AP scholar in her junior year.  She has been  called upon to be a leader as a presenter at the 2012 MLTI Student Led Conference, a member of National Honor Society, and as an art mentor. Catherine is a well-rounded student by being involved in many extra-curricula activities as well including cross country, District 6 Music Festivals, knitting club, chess and gaming club, and drama club.  She also received the Maine's Principal's Award.  Katie will be attending Bates College in the fall.  She is the daughter of Cathy and the late Phillip Morse of Machias.

  Emily Morse has been named class Salutatorian of 2013.  Emily will attend Bates
College after graduation.  She has been actively involved throughout her high school
career in academics and has been on the honor roll consistently and selected as a Student of the Quarter for her efforts. Emily was named an AP scholar and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society in her junior year.  In addition to her high school studies, Emily is very involved in the National Honor Society, serves on the Welcome Committee, participates in cross country, drama, the chess and gaming club, the knitting club, and
band.  She also takes Japanese and piano lessons simply because she has an interest  and wants to learn.  For community service, Emily has used her love and talent for art by
serving as an art mentor for over 50 hours.  Emily is the daughter of Cathy and the late
Phillip Morse of Machias.
Commencement exercises will be held at Machias Memorial High School Gymnasium at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2013.
