In the upcoming election on June 6th, there is a line item, authorizing the Town of Bar Harbor to spend up to $400,000 for parking meters and kiosks. WDEA's Chris Popper spoke with Martha Searchfield who is the Executive Director of the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Parking Solutions Task Force.

The parking meters would be seasonal and the kiosks and meters would not be put in place until the Spring of 2018. Popper asked Searchfield about timing of the meters, how this affects residents, can residents receive free parking permits, how the meters and kiosks work, about enforcement, how you pay fines, how this impacts workers who aren't Bar Harbor residents, what the parking meter and kiosk revenue may be used for and more.
