The Bar Harbor Town Council this afternoon affirmed Town Manager, Dana Reed's decision to fire the Police Chief, Nate Young, who had been on administrative leave, since October, 2013. He was fired in January, 2014 by Town Manager, Dana Reed, but he appealed that decision to the Town Council. The appeal was heard, today, in open session in front of a full audience in the Town Council's chambers.

The Bar Harbor Council voted 5-2 to support the Town Manager's decision for termination. Voting in favor of termination were Councilors Bowden, Friedmann, Eveland, Paradis and St. Germain. Voting against the termination, and to reinstate the chief to his position were Councilors Garland and Walsh.
