The 4th of July brings thousands of visitors to Bar Harbor, after all, it was named by the Today Show as  the number 1  top Fourth of July celebration in America back in 2014, and recognized by National Geographic as one of the top ten in the U.S. as well!

The Bar Harbor Police Department released the parade route on July 3rd and these helpful tips.

The parade starts at Park Street. and travels north on Main Street. until the Cottage Street. intersection and then travels west on Cottage Street. until the Eden Street intersection. The parade then travels south on Eden Sreet. until the Mount Desert Street. intersection and then travels east on Mount Desert Street until the Ledgelawn Avenue intersection. The parade then ventures south on Ledgelawn Avenue until the Park Street intersection. At the Park Street and Ledgelawn Avenue intersection, floats travel a variety of ways because of lack of parking at the start / finish line.

If you are traveling from off of Mount Desert Island, please leave early and allow for plenty of travel time and time to find a place to park.

Please obey any and all "no parking" signs you may encounter along the roadways or on private property.

Remember that if you are here early enough to park within the boundaries set by the orange lines on the map, you are here for the duration of the event. The parade starts at 10AM and lasts until the last float turns onto Ledgelawn Avenue. Since we do not know how many parade entries there are, there is no way for us to provide you an end time.

Do not leave your pets unattended in parked vehicles.
