Unfortunately power outages have continued to increase throughout the day, despite the restoration efforts that began at 6:30 AM. Bangor Hydro Electric Company advises customers who are without power as of 10:00 tonight that they should be prepared to be without power overnight.

Restoration Details:Power restoration efforts have been underway since about 6:30 this morning. Strong winds and heavy rain continue to cause damage to the electrical system. Additional staff has been called in to assist field crews in the hardest hit areas along the coast. The Customer Service Center will be staffed with extra employees as well to handle customer calls as efficiently as possible.With widespread damage including fallen tree limbs and power lines, customers are reminded that it's never safe to come in contact with those lines or trees near or touching them. Crews will handle calls as quickly and safely as possible. Alternate heat and power sources should be used in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.
