Chris is WDEA's "Sports Guy"! He has been broadcasting MDI and Ellsworth Basketball games for the past 10 years and this is the 9th year of broadcasting MDI Football. He is the 2013 Electronic Media Award winner from the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrator's Association in recognition for outstanding electronic media contributions to Maine Interscholastic Athletics. He is the 2015 Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce President’s Award Winner for Sustained and Exceptional Service to the Community In addition to broadcasting the sporting events for Townsquare Media, Chris sells advertising on the Townsquare Media stations. Current SNAP Recipients May Be Eligible for Replacement Benefits Following Power Outages

Lots and lots of Mainers are dumping the contents of their refrigerators and freezers after the power outage resulting from the October 30th windstorm. It's better to be safe than sorry in determining whether something should be thrown away. The temptation to keep food that may be unsafe could be high if you are on assistance. But current recipients of Food Supplement benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) may be able to get help with food lost following this week's storm.

Ellsworth PD “No-Shave-ember” [PHOTOS]

If you see a member of the Ellsworth Police Department during the month of November, you may be thinking they have lost their razors, or are being affected by the full moon on November 4th. It's not that, they're just participating in "No-Shave-ember"! They are raising money for the Beth C. Wright Cancer Center in Ellsworth and you can participate by making a donation at Ellsworth City Hall.

Sugar Mags Opens in Ellsworth [PHOTOS]

A new retro candy shop has opened in Ellsworth, next to The Grand on 169 Main Street in Ellsworth. Sugar Mags, a family owned business by Sarah, Jesse and 3 year old Marguerite "Mags" Bowden. The store opened on Saturday, October 28th and handed out over 1100 pieces of candy to trick or treaters in Ellsworth on Halloween!
