‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ May Feature Some ‘Harry Potter’ Characters
There was one thing in the most recent trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them that stood out among the rest — the mention of a certain headmaster at Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, maybe you’ve heard of him? As the new spinoff takes place several decades before the events of the Harry Potter series, Dumbledore isn’t headmaster just yet, but he does get a healthy name-drop in the trailer. And that has us wondering if we’ll see (or hear of) any other familiar characters in the upcoming film.
SNL and Julia Louis-Dreyfus Revive Elaine Benes for the Democratic Debates
You can’t have Julia Louis-Dreyfus host SNL without at least some reference to her Seinfeld past — especially when you bring Larry David back to reprise his role as presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. In this week’s debate-themed cold open, Sanders and Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton indulge in their usual caricature shenanigans and cartoonish sparring, this time with cameos from a couple of beloved sitcoms of NBC’s past.

Prepare for ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ With Four New J.K. Rowling Stories
J.K. Rowling may be done with the Harry Potter book series, but that hasn’t kept the author from indulging in and expanding its magical universe. SNL Ranked: Jonah Hill Feels Weirdly Miscast in an Occasionally Hilarious Episode
Jonah Hill returned to SNL this weekend, and while he doesn’t have any new films to promote (aside from his small part in last month’s Hail, Caesar!) until August, an appearance from Jonah Hill is always a welcome one. So, how did Hill do in his fourth outing as SNL host? More importantly, did Adam Grossman make an appearance? Read on for our ranking of this week’s sketches from best to worst.
‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Sweep the 2016 Razzie Awards
Ah, the Razzies. Looking at the list of nominees for the annual "worst film awards" increasingly makes it seem as though the people behind the Razzies don't actually watch the worst films of the year, and while Fifty Shades of Grey was hardly 2015’s worst cinematic byproduct, the film managed to sweep the Razzies with five "awards." Fantastic Four was right behind it with three awards, with both films tying for Worst Picture of 2015. At least they got it half-right.
New Netflix Instant Releases: March 2016
It's that time again! A bunch of new titles are coming to Netflix Instant next month, including the latest seasons of House of Cards and Daredevil, as well as new premieres like Pee-wee's Big Holiday and Will Arnett's Flaked — and that's just the Netflix Original content. There's even more in our guide to what's hitting Netflix Instant in March.
Stephen King’s ‘It’ Will Still Be Two R-Rated Movies, ‘Hopefully’ Filming Later This Year
While Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Stephen King’s sprawling horror epic It has now joined the list of great films that might have been, New Line hasn’t entirely ditched the plans set out by the former True Detective director. The studio is still planning on adapting the novel into two films, with the first focusing on the characters as children and the second following them as adults. And though we still mourn what Fukunaga’s version could have been, take solace in knowing that New Line is at least targeting an R rating.
‘The Stand’ Adaptation Is On Hold, Companion TV Series Has Been Ditched
And in other Stephen King news…The Dark Tower isn’t the only ambitious and sprawling adaptation that’s been in development for ages. A film based on King’s post-apocalyptic epic The Stand has also been in the works for some time, with The Fault in Our Stars director (and King super-fan) Josh Boone on board to write and direct, and while Warner Bros. and Boone were close to figuring out the best approach for the project, the rights lapsed and Boone moved on to another King adaptation: Revival. The Stand may not be dead (yet), but it is definitely on hold, according to producer Roy Lee.
