Bangor Police have charged a Holden man in connection with an armed robbery from a local hotel.

Bangor Police Dept. Sgt. Tim Cotton say it was just after 1 a.m. Tuesday when the suspect entered the Bangor Inn and Suites on the Hogan Road. He displayed a knife and demanded money from the Inn's safe, according to police. But his robbery attempt failed when the male desk clerk physically overtook the suspect and held him until Bangor Police officers arrived on the scene.

Scott Murray, 32, of Holden was arrested at the business and is now being held at the Penobscot County Jail. He's charged with Class A Robbery.
