Doug Fister gave up just one run in seven innings while Jackie Bradley Jr and Xander Bogaerts were driving in runs as the Red Sox beat the Blue Jays 6-1 in the final game of their three game series. The win adds a half-game to the Sox lead over the Yankees in the AL East.

That lead is now four games as the Yankees-Orioles game was rained out.

Fister is on a roll at just the right time. In his last four starts, the Angels castoff has gone 3-1 with a 1.50 ERA. He allowed four hits and three walks last night while striking out nine.

Meanwhile, some of the Sox hitters had important hits on a rainy night at Fenway. Bogaerts with a RBI triple to give the Sox a 4th inning lead. Rafael Devers added a RBI hit and then JBJ blasted a two-run home run. The four run inning was more than enough to get past the Jays.

After Tuesday night's 19 inning game and 20 games in 20 days, the Red Sox get today off. A weekend series with Tampa Bay starts Friday night.
