The family of a man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in Parkman is asking the suspect to turn himself into police.

Robert Burton has been on the run since Stephanie Gebo's body was discovered in her Parkman home on June 5.

“We plead for Robbie to immediately turn himself in to the police,” Burton's family said in a statement published by the Bangor Daily News.

“We are deeply saddened by Stephanie’s tragic death and the continued chain of events,” the statement said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with her children, family and friends at this difficult time, and will continue to be. We continue to cooperate fully with the Maine State Police in any way we can, to support the apprehension of Robbie.”

Burton is considered armed and dangerous. Parkman area residents are encouraged to keep doors and vehicles locked and report any suspicious activity to police.
