8th Annual Bed Races In Bar Harbor [PHOTOS]

Where else but in Bar Harbor would the main street in town be closed down for about 45 minutes for bed races? But let me tell you, it was a great time on Saturday morning, November 12th for the 8th Annual Bed Races!

Twelve teams competed this year including RM Flagg, Scenic Flights of Acadia, MDI Biolab, The Criterion Theatre, Camp Beech Cliff, Bar Harbor-MDI Rotary, College of the Atlantic, Little A's, The Reading Room Restaurant at the Bar Harbor Inn, Acadia Community Theater, Bar Harbor Congregational Church and The Coffee Cuppers.

Krazy Jake did a great job emceeing the event. Each team ran up from the Corner of Cottage and Rodick Street in front of the Criterion Theatre to Main Street and back, having to circumnavigate a traffic cone. The 3 fastest beds competed in a run-off.

The three fastest were RM Flagg, Little A's and the College of the Atlantic and RM Flagg finished 1st and Little A's 2nd with College of the Atlantic finishing 3rd. The Reading Room Restaurant bed won a special prize for best decorated.
