The Boston Red Sox won their 7th game in a row on Tuesday night, August 8th, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 2-0 in Florida.

Chris Sale pitched a gem of a game, throwing a 2-hitter, and striking out 13, while walking just 1 in 8 innings. Sale is now 14-4 with a 2.57 ERA. Craig Kimbrel pitched the 9th inning striking out the side for his 28th save of the season.

Eduardo Nunez hit in the lead-off spot of the order and was 3-5 with 2 doubles.

Xander Bogaerts was 3-5, Jackie Bradley Jr. was 2-4 with a RBI and Andrew Benintendi was 2-4 as well.

Dustin Pedroia returned from the 10 Day Disabled List and was 0-4, scoring a run. He was the designated hitter.

The Red Sox win, combined with the Yankees loss to Toronto means the Red Sox are now 4.0 games ahead of the 2nd place New York Yankees.

The Red Sox take on Tampa Bay Wednesday night in the final game of the quick 2 game series with the pregame starting at 6:25 PM and 1st pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA.
