63,304 Still Without Power Tuesday

Dawn couldn't come soon enough for the 63,304 Emera Maine customers still without power on Tuesday, October 31st. Emera made great progress, restoring power to about 20,000 since the height of the windstorm yesterday, but still much needs to be done.

If you have been without power since yesterday it's time to evaluate the condition of food in your refrigerator. Freezers as long as they have been tightly shut should still be good heading into day 2.

Remember there are LOTS and LOTS of lines down. Do NOT go near them. Operate as if they are live. Don't drive over them. Also if you are using a generator, be sure that it is properly ventilated and installed as you don’t want to backfeed the line and risk electrocuting someone!
