Dover-Foxcroft Police Chief Dennis Dyer says 3 men have been hospitalized as the result of an early morning fight.

The call came into police around 6 this morning from Lancaster Avenue in Dover-Foxcroft.

The men are not being identified as the investigation continues into what prompted the fight.

Chief Dyer says the men were known to each other and law enforcement are familiar with them as well but would not go into further detail at this time.

Chief Dyer says the man who was shot apparently traveled to the home on Lancaster Avenue and got involved in some sort of confrontation with the two other men at the home.

After the shooting that man fled the scene and returned to a home in Sangerville where someone called 9-11 to report he'd been shot.

The man was shot with a .22 rifle.

Two of the men were taken to Mayo Regional and the other was airlifted to Eastern Maine Medical but they are all expected to survive their injuries.
