2020 Olympic Cities Evaluated

Did you know that the International Olympic Committee had narrowed the choice of the 2020 Summer Olympic site to three cities? I sure didn't! They are Istanbul, Tokyo and Madrid!

Tokyo hosted the 1964 Summer Olympics and were originally scheduled to host the 1940 Summer Olympics, before the honor was stripped from them after Japan invaded China. The 1940 Olympics never took place because of World War II. The 1964 Tokyo Olympics were the first Olympics held in Asia.

Madrid and Istanbul have never hosted the Olympics. This is the 3rd consecutive time that Madrid has put in a bid.

Voting and designation of the 2020 Olympic City will occur September 7th in Buenos Aires
