17th Annual Carol Dyer Luminaria Bags Available on July 4th at Ballfield

The 17th Annual Carol Dyer Memorial Luminaria Evening, honoring loved ones who are struggling with, or those who have passed away from cancer will take place on the Bar Harbor Village Green on Saturday, August 4th from 7PM-9:30PM.

One of the most amazing sights is when all the luminary bags are lit, along the walkways of the Village Green

Luminaries may be purchased at the event starting at 4PM on August 4th, but also may be purchased in advanced on July 4th from 10AM -2 PM at the Bar Harbor Rotary's Seafood Festival on July 4th at the Ballfield. Luminaries will be available for $10 each. On the day of the event, they will also be available beginning at 4PM

Luminaries are bags with names written on them, and a lighted candle is placed inside, representing a life and the hope for a cancer-free world. On August 4th at the event, each name and hometown will be read during the lighting ceremony, with readings throughout the evening.

Proceeds from the 17th Annual Carol Dwyer Luminaria Evening will benefit Home Cooked Healing, a local group of volunteers who provide nutritious home-made meals for people who have cancer.
