Maine Retailer Of The Year: Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream [POLL]

A very tasty home grown Skowhegan business was presented the "Maine Retailer Of The Year" award at the Cross Insurance Center yesterday!

Gifford's Famous Ice Cream was given the award by the Retail Association of Maine.  In an article in the Bangor Daily News, Curtis Picard, executive director of the association said, "Their commitment to using Maine ingredients wherever possible and branding their product line with Maine themes helps extend the Maine brand beyond our state border."

Seven Gifford family members work for the business.  Lindsay Gifford - Skilling who is the General Manager for the company said, " Being Maine Retailer of the Year is an enormous honor.  My entire family is so honored to be recognized!"

Gifford's Famous Ice Cream recently took top honors at the World Dairy Expo Championship.

Gifford's has ice cream stands in Auburn, Bangor, Farmington, Skowhegan and Waterville.  You can also find Gifford's Ice Cream at Hannaford, Wal-Greens and Danforth's Supermarket.

And yes, during a basic workday at Gifford's, family members do take daily "ice cream breaks" together.
