14 Thousand Still Without Power

Monday morning, January 11th is going to be a dark morning for 14,548 Emera Maine customers thanks to the huge windstorm and rainstorm that Down East and Central Maine experienced Sunday afternoon and evening.

According to Bob Potts, the spokesperson for Emera Maine

Damage to the system has been extensive, especially in Hancock County where more than 10,000 people are still in the dark. As workers blanket hard hit areas at first light, more information will become available in terms of storm damage and more accurate restoration times. Some customers, especially those in remote areas, are expected to be without power into Tuesday.
