1 Week To Go!

It's the last week of the High School Basketball Season, and so much is at stake. The MDI Girls seem to be locked into 3rd place and should have a bye in the prelims and have punched their ticket to Bangor and the new Cross Insurance Center. The MDI Boys, currently in 3rd place, need a couple of victories to secure a bye. The MDI Boys play host to John Bapst on Wednesday February 5th and Ellsworth on February 7th. The February 7th game against Ellsworth is the Hooping for Hope Game. It's also Senior Night, and a chance to honor seniors Jon Phelps, Abe Philbrook, Steven Hanscom and Andrew Davis.

Both those games will be heard on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio. If the MDI Boys finish 3rd, they would play the 6th seed in the first game at the Cross Insurance Center on Friday, February 14th at 5 PM.

The MDI Girls have two games this week. They play at the Cross Insurance Center against John Bapst on Tuesday, February 4th, and then at Ellsworth on Thursday, February 6th.  During the Tuesday game, we'll talk with Seniors Hannah Shaw and Sierra Myrick. Both those games will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370. If the MDI Girls finish 3rd, they would play the 6th seed at the Cross Insurance Center on Friday, February 14th at 8 PM.

The Ellsworth Girls have 1 game this week, home against MDI on Thursday, February 6th. That will be Senior Night for the Ellsworth Girls, a chance to honor Morgan Card, Olivia Mora, Sydni Palmer, Hannah Buzzell and Kaiti Kinney. The Ellsworth Girls currently sit in 10th place, and will play in a prelim game on Tuesday, February 11th, in a game that will be heard on WDEA AM 1370. You are encouraged to bring boxes of pasta to the game, to contribute to the WDEA Pasta Drive which will be held Saturday, February 8th at the Ellsworth Hannaford, with all contributions going to food pantries in Ellsworth and Bar Harbor!

The Ellsworth Boys currently sit in 10th place, and are guaranteed a prelim game on Wednesday, February 12th. If the Ellsworth Boys defeat MDI on the 7th, they could move all the way up to 7th place and host a prelim game! You'll want to be at Bernard Parady Gymnasium early on the 7th to make sure you have a seat, and if not, be sure to listen to the game on WDEA AM 1370.
